July 1st, 2023 Memorial Day Service

On July 1st, 2023, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 21, Twillingate hosted the Memorial Day Service commemorating the 107th anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, France and the hundreds of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who fought, were injured, or died that fateful day, as well as the thousands more who served in WWI, WWII and other wars.

Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Government or Canada, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Town of Twillingate, the Town of Crow Head, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 21, RCSCC 83 Briton Sea Cadets, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate Fire Department, Durrell Museum and Arm Lads Brigade, Twillingate Masonic Lodge, Twillingate Lions Club and the 50 Plus Club.  Additional wreaths were laid in memory of Edward and Frederick White, Allan S Young, Allan Roberts and Frederick White by their respective families.
