W Bro. Harvey Hicks

On April 13th, 2023, we met with W Bro. Harvey Hicks at his residence in Orem's Bethesda Manor in Gander. Bro. Harvey joined Twillingate Masonic Lodge on March 3rd, 1960. He was the second oldest Brother in our lodge and third longest serving at the time, 63 years.  

Bro. Harvey passed to Fellow Craft on April 7th, 1960 and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on December 1st later that year. In 1985, he became Worshipful Master of the lodge and also became a founding member of Unity Lodge of Installed Masters in Gander. In 1995, he attained the title of Past District Grand Standard Bearer and in 2004 became the Worshipful Master of Unity Lodge of Installed Masters.

Bro. Harvey had been a long time active member in Masonry. He held various offices, his primary one being that of Chaplain, which he performed with distinction for 18 years. On May 7th, 2009 he was granted Distinguished Service Membership.

Sadly, after a brief illness, Bro. Harvey laid down his working tools for the last time on August 1st, 2023. RIP Brother.
