Did you know Charles D. Mayne, a Past Master of Twillingate Lodge, who also served as Lodge secretary and treasurer, and who was a member of its building committee in the early 1900s, was a justice of the peace and a commissioner of the Newfoundland Supreme Court? Wor. Bro. Mayne spent most of his working career in his adopted hometown of Twillingate. He was active on the local Methodist education board. Bro. Mayne became secretary of the Notre Dame Mutual Insurance in 1908. He remained in that role until 1921.
